Cadets from 504 (West Nottingham) Sqn, 1360 (Stapleford) Sqn and 1359 (Beeston) Sqn have recently pulled together for an appeal by Sgt (ATC) Mark Blacknell from 504 Sqn to collect items that can be put into Shoe Box’s and sent to the troops in Afghanistan.
Sgt (ATC) Blacknell Appealed to the Cadet’s of each Sqn when a family friend’s 19 year old son Marine Daniel Orme of 42 Commando RM from the Bilborough area of Nottingham was sent on his first deployment to Afghanistan.
Sgt (ATC) Blacknell said “I appealed to the Cadets of 504, 1360 and 1359 Sqn’s after talking to Daniel’s mother who was sending Shoe Boxes out for her son, and was surprised by the response I got, enough items were collected to send twenty boxes for the male and female troops in Afghanistan and four boxes for the dogs that are sent to find IED’s. I would like to say a big thank you to all Staff and Cadets that have help with this appeal.”

Craig and Sarah Orme, Daniel’s Father and Mother, who came to 504 Sqn to collected the Shoe Boxes said “We would like to thank all those that have help to fill all these Shoe Boxes, we are overwhelmed by the response Thank You.”
