Recently 1947 (Birstall) Squadron took part in a community event to raise money for the British Legion. They attended Beaumanor Hall Summer Concert which is held annually. This year the highlight was the guest singer; Miss Hayley Westenra(New Zealand Classical Singer). The evening started with a fly past by a Spitfire and a Hurricane, and concluded with an amazing fireworks display!
Despite the pouring rain the cadets still managed to carry out their duties which included selling programmes, escorting Miss Westerner to and from the stage and general marshalling of the event. They also lined the pathway for the passing of the British Legion and ATC Banners. For some of the cadets it was their first public event and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
