Cadets on the Region Climbing Wall

On Sunday the 23rd of August 2015 five cadets from 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron ATC went climbing on the Air Cadets Regional Climbing wall. Sunday afternoon whilst the other cadets were at home with their families Cadet Flight Sergeant Nathan Moffatt, Cadet Sergeant Jonny Clulow, Cadet Corporal Catherine McHale and Cadets Bradley Scriven and Lucy Scott all went to Leicester to use the Regional Climbing wall.

They started off climbing up normally once everyone had their go they were then challenged to climb with only one hand and two legs, this was hard as you had to maintain three points of contact on the wall any one time. After that challenge had been complete to the best of everyone’s ability they were further challenged to climb up the wall only using one foot and two hands, this was even more challenging than before as you had to hop up the wall. Everyone had a go just before we were allowed to go up the wall how we wanted.

However, the weather turned on us and it started to rain which resulted in us finishing half an hour earlier than we had expected. Cadet Sergeant Jonny Clulow said “We all had a great time and learnt a few new and potentially useful skills. Even the weather couldn’t dampen our spirits!” Photos will be sent soon.
