Proud young cadets marched through Oakham town Centre in front of scores of people to celebrate an anniversary.
More than 40 cadets took part in the parade which marked the 73rd year of the Air Training Corps.
Cadets from 2248 (Rutland) Squadron were joined by 1181 (Syston) Squadron and 1279 (Melton) Squadron for the event which is held in the town every three years, as each of the three squadron take it in turn each year to host the celebrations.
The cadets were led by the Tally Ho Band from Melton Mowbray and families lined the streets to cheer them on. The salute was taken by the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland who is also honorary president of Rutland Sqn.
Andrew Griffin, chairman of the 2248 (Rutland) Squadron civilian committee, which organised the event, said: “There were a number of people watching in High Street and it all went very well. The band were very good and the cadets had a real sense of pride.”
