Cadets from 1359 (Beeston) Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Cadets, attended the annual Beeston Carnival in the outskirts of Nottingham on Saturday 9th July.
A large number of cadets, staff and committee turned out to man the squadron’s marquee and to take part in the parade through the town centre. The good weather ensured a good turn out by the public with many of them stopping to take a look at 1359’s stand that included photo boards, promotional videos, Duke of Edinburgh Scheme display and a flight simulator which proved to be very popular. The cadets were also on hand to assist other stallholders with the putting up and taking down of their gazebos and marquees, this was gratefully received by those who took advantage of the service.
A lot of interest was shown by the young people attending the carnival with plenty of potential new recruits details being taken on the day. The squadron is recruiting in September and so any young persons aged 13 or over who are interested in joining should contact the squadron on 0115 9256774 or via the “contact us” section on www.1359squadron.com.
