1181, 1461,1947 2070 and 2229 squadrons, alongside the Sea Cadets all assisted the Leicester Marathon by setting up and delivery Water and High 5 solutions to 3500 runners at eight locations across the Leicestershire Marathon Course.

The Squadrons were lead by Sqn Ldr Sarah Mayoh-Smith who commented; “I am very proud of the cadets who took part, They were all very professional in their roles and this was echoed by the runners.

It was a very worthwhile event as it allowed the both Cadet Forces to have a presence at a significant sporting event in Leicester and money raised was all in aid of LOROS ( Leicestershire Organisation for Relief of Suffering)a Local Hospice and the Matt Hampson Trust ( Ex Leicester Tigers Player).

I’d like to thank to say a big thank-you to all who assisted in the event.
