Members of South & East Midlands Wing Cadet Development Team (CDT) travelled to RAF College Cranwell on Wednesday 7th October to receive their Team Commendation which was announced in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
The Commendation was presented during an Award ceremony, hosted by Air Vice-Marshal Barry North OBE MA RAF who is the Air Officer Commanding 22 (Training) Group.
The CDT were awarded the Team Commendation in recognition of their efforts over the last three and a half years in the development and delivery of high quality and professional training for cadets within South & East Midlands Wing.

Air Vice-Marshal North, who presented the Team Commendation said “I am privileged to present this Team Commendation to the Cadet Development Team in recognition of their hard work, professionalism and loyalty, the team’s efforts and contribution is certainly appreciated by the cadets as well as both the wider Air Cadet Organisation and the Royal Air Force”.
Sqn Ldr Mark Richards (Wing Training Officer – Cadet Development) who collected the award on behalf of the team said “we are very proud to have received this award and everyone in the team feels very honoured to have been recognised with the award of the AOC’s Team Commendation”.
