Changing Guard at Oakham Castle

Oakham Castle recently hosted the investiture of the Lord Lieutenant Cadet’s for Rutland. The Cadet’s escort the Lord Lieutenant Dr. Laurence Howard, on his official duties representing The Queen within the county.
Cadet Sergeant Bethany Bloor from 2248 (Rutland) Squadron, Air Cadets and Cadet Corporal Liam Sansom of the Army Cadet Force, North Luffenham Detachment, were welcomed and presented their badge of office by Dr. Howard. During the ceremony in the castle, Dr. Howard also thanked the outgoing Lord Lieutenant Cadet’s, Flight Sergeant James Dadford and Sergeant Stephanie Dekremer for their help and support whilst escorting him on his official duties over the previous twelve months. Dr Howard said,” The highlight of the year was the visit by the Queen to Burghley House during her Diamond Jubilee celebrations. An experience we will all remember”.
