10 Cadets and Staff from 1F (City of Leicester) Squadron of the Air Training Corp’s assisted in raising money for the Help the Heroes Charity.

The charity concert held at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester was organised as a fund raising event and the cadets were asked to give a helping hand in distributing the concert programmes to the audience, they were also asked to collect money for the charity Help the Heroes.

The cadets were treated to stirring music provided by the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment and were allowed to watch the concert. A firm favourite with the cadets was the bands rendition of the RAF in the movies music. This brought home to them the history and heritage of the Royal Air Force.

Two cadets and one member of staff were invited to attend the VIP drinks party which was held during the concert interval. The two lucky cadets really enjoyed this experience and many discussions took place between them and the dignities.

Cadet Summers commented on the evening by saying, “I really enjoyed the concert it was great to see all the RAF Bandsmen in their RAF uniforms.” He went on to say that, “I really enjoyed the military music, it made me proud to be a member of the Air Training Corp’s”
