Squadron Leader Andy Pass, Wing Staff Officer of South & East Midlands Wing has received the First Clasp to his Cadet Forces Medal from The Deputy Lord Lieutenant Of Nottingham to mark his eighteen years of adult service.

Having served continuously since joining 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron as a cadet in 1988, Andy has served at several squadrons as either squadron officer or Commanding officer. Appointed to Wing Staff in 2002, Andy has filled diverse rolls and currently is the Wing Adult Training Officer, Health and Safety Officer and the Wing Child Protection Advisor. Andy was appointed Deputy Wing Commander at the end of last year.

After a short speech by the Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson, Officer Commanding South & East Midlands Wing, The Clasp was presented by Colonel Roger Merryweather, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire in front of cadets and the general public in Nottingham’s Market Square after the Battle of Britain parade.

“The award of the first clasp to the CFM marks 18 years of uniformed service and commitment during which Sqn Ldr Pass has been a significant contributor to the success of the ATC and the Wing in particular. It is appropriate that the presentation of the clasp was at a parade he has been very involved in over the years and has played a key role in developing to the scale it has become. It was also quite nice to surprise him for a change!” said the Wing Commander after springing this presentation on Andy.
