Coalville Air Cadet Civilian Instructor Goes the Extra Mile

Civilian Instructor Jenny May has gone the extra mile to raise money for the 1188 (Coalville) squadron, Air Training Corps.

CI Jenny May, who is in charge of the sporting activities at the squadron, took part in the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham this month to raise money for athletic sporting equipment for the squadron.

She completed the 13 miles in 2hours and 12 minutes raising between £300 and £350.

She said “It was hard work, doing all the training and competing but it was good fun and for a good cause. I am looking forward to helping the cadets reach their potential in athletics and other sporting competitions. “

Flying Officer Rod Dring RAF VR(T) said” I am impressed with the CI May’s commitment to the squadron and the new sporting equipment will be very beneficial for the cadets.”
