The cadets from 1188 (Coalville) Squadron Air Training Corps have become affiliated with the members of The Whitwick Branch of the Royal British Legion.

Three members of the Royal British Legion attended the squadron to present the Agreement of Affiliation.
The cadets have always supported The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and the Royal British Legion Members have always supported the cadets, as the next generation, however this agreement makes the mutual support official.

Jim Rowlinson, the Branch Chairman and Flying Officer Rod Dring both signed the agreement, they stated they have a clear understanding and respect for the aims and objectives of each other’s organisations. They agreed to provide mutual support and encouragement to each other’s organisation when requested and practicable. They also agreed to provide help and support in achieving those aims and objectives.

Flying Officer Rod Dring said “ I have a lot of respect for the members of the Royal British Legion and admire all the hard work they do. We look forward to working more closely with them in the future.”
