Cadets from 1188 (Coalville) Squadron Air Training Corps have been raising money for charity again.

Cadets and staff from 1188 (Coalville) Squadron have been out this month collecting money for the Royal Air Force Association.

They have been collecting at Tesco Supermarket in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. They were selling badges and also taking donations. The shoppers in Ashby were very generous the cadets raised £615 in just a few hours on one day.

The RAF Association supports serving and former RAF personnel and their families. Whether it’s an injured airman fighting to get back onto his feet, a young daughter missing her parent away on overseas operations or a WWII veteran needing a shoulder to lean on, they are there to help.

Flying Officer Rod Dring RAF VR (T) said,” I’m really proud of the cadets. They looked smart and raised a lot of money for a really good cause. Everyone was really generous despite the difficult financial times.”
