Air cadets from (1188) Coalville Squadron, Air Training Corps witnessed BLUE Peter presenter Helen Skelton’s latest Red Nose Day Challenge, when she flew with the Red Arrows from RAF Cranwell. This was the third of Helen’s Magnificent 7 challenges for Red Nose Day.
Cadets and staff from 1188 (Coalville) Squadron spent Tuesday 12th February at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.
The cadets had chance to meet Helen Skelton before a formal parade outside RAF College Cranwell. The cadets then took part in a giant sized photo shoot with Helen Skelton and the Red Arrows. The cadets also appeared on Blue Peter. Helen Skelton performed a full display with the Red Arrows. She flew in Red 1.
She said: “I was sick with nerves and excitement before the flight, but I feel honoured to have had this opportunity and I feel completely ecstatic now I’ve done it. The air cadets have been fantastic and I was genuinely overwhelmed when I saw all of the hard work they have done fundraising and how many turned out to see the flypast today.”
