Offical photo with Red Arrows
Last week, during half term thirty cadets from 1188 (Coalville) Squadron Air Training Corps went to visit The Red Arrows.
Thirty Cadets from Coalville air cadets went to spend the morning with The Red Arrows at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire. The visit started with a presentation about the team and then there was the chance to get up close to the Hawk Aircraft that the Red Arrows use.
The highlight of the day was watching the team practise their display for the up and coming display season. The cadets saw the syncro pair practising first. When the aircraft landed there a surprise in store for Flying Officer Rebekah Harrison. From the back seat of one of the aircraft climbed Flt Lt Michael Knapton, they were both cadets at 1188 Squadron in the 1990’s and had not seen each other since they left the squadron.

The cadets then watched Red 1 and the first year Red Arrow Pilots practise their display. When the pilots landed there was chance for a rare photo opportunity and chat with Red 1,2,3 and 4.
Cadet Flude said, “It was a great way to spend a Wednesday”, Cpl Priestnall said, It was a great experience”
