The cadets from Coalville Squadron were invited to the event at Leicester Cathedral by Mr Jim Rowlinson, the chairman of the Festival of Remembrance Committee.

The cadets enjoyed music from The Syd Lawrence Orchestra which included music from the wartime including Glenn Miller Classics, later in the programme more recent music including a James Bond Medley and to conclude there was a sing-along including “Land of Hope and Glory”.

There was also an act of Remembrance including wreath laying.

The event was attended by members of the Royal British Legion, veterans and local VIPs including Jennifer, Lady Gretton.

Flying Officer Rod Dring, the officer in charge of 1188 Sqn said “ It was a real privilege for the squadron to attend, I think it is really important for the younger generation to have an understanding of the importance of Remembrance events.”
