Coldstream Guard visits Coalville Air Cadets

David Burroughs, a Coldstream Guard has visited (1188) Coalville Sqn Air Training Corps to talk to the cadets about his experiences of serving in the Armed Forces.
David Burroughs a ColdStream Guard visited Coalville Sqn and told the cadets about his five years in the armed forces, his reasons for joining, his training and his experiences both home and abroad, the highs of Trooping the Colour and the lows of losing friends abroad.
The cadets had the opportunity to ask questions and learn what it is really like to serve in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
David is due to leave the Coldstream Guards in October and the squadron is looking forward to welcoming him to the squadron as a civilian instructor.

Flying Officer R Harrison RAF VR (T) said’ It was good for the cadets to meet David Burroughs and learn about serving in the armed forces abroad. It was a rare opportunity for them to gain first hand knowledge about what military life might be like for them if they join up.
