Corps Championship Fourth Place for Loughborough Air Cadets

After successfully winning the Wing and Region Drill Competition, 2229 (Loughborough) Squadron went on to represent Central & East Region at the Corps Drill Championships.

Held at RAF Halton under strict judging, the South & East Midlands Squadron’s Drill Team managed to come fourth against stiff competition. Cadet Flight Sergeant Bradley Spence, the Cadet in charge of the Squad, being rewarded with a second place for his turnout and the way he commanded the 12 man squad.

The competition was visited by the new Air Commodore who presented the trophies. The Warrant Officer to the Chief of Staff was also in attendance to see for himself the cadet’s high standard of drill.

Flight Lieutenant Adrian Garraway, Officer Commanding the Loughborough Squadron said: “I am so proud of the achievements made by the drill team, they worked so hard and showed such much commitment to being the best in the country and they very nearly made it. They all went away feeling relieved that was over for this year but everyone of them had such a great day and they all enjoyed this unique experience, well done just does not go far enough.”

Judging was conducted by Royal Air Force Drill Instructors from the Recruit Training School.
