Cpl’s first time at Swynnerton

After finishing my AS levels, I decided it would be a great opportunity to attend Swynnerton as I had never been before. Upon arrival, we were each assigned a room for the week and our flight. ‘I’ Flight was my flight where I was given the honour of being 2IC. This gave me a role within the flight and increased my responsibilities as I was already a junior NCO.

The first day was Team Building where we stayed in our flights. This enabled us to get to know each other and build our morale within the flight.

Throughout the week, we faced some challenging activities such as the Rock Run and the Gun Run, some adventure training activities for example kayaking, canoeing and mountain biking and some leadership tasks including The Human Worm.

It was a tiring week, but I had an amazing time. 2014 Swynnerton was by far the best camp I have ever been on within the ATC.
