A group of 209 (West Bridgford) Royal Air Force Air Cadets have this year been awarded their Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate and BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Public Services.
Aged between 16 and 19, the Air Cadets were awarded their certificates at 209 (West Bridgford) Squadron’s presentation evening this month. To pass each individual must complete sections within Public Service Skills, Employment in the Uniformed Public Services and Non-uniformed Public Services, Land Navigation by Map and Compass, Teamwork as well completing a practice interview for a specific job role they have chosen.
Five Cadets passed the course with a ‘Pass’ grade, two passed with ‘Merit’ and three passed with ‘Distinction’.
A further three cadets have also been awarded with BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Music. Completion of this qualification was aided with 209 (West Bridgford Squadron) winning the Wing, Region and Corps Ensemble Competitions throughout the year of 2013.
Thank you to Wing Commander Steve Mills, Corps Vocational Qualification Officer and Wing Commander Gil Singleton, ACO’s Principal Director of Music, whose visits to the Squadron to aid the completion of these prestigious was extremely helpful.
With such a fantastic qualification being awarded, we at 209 wish those who have now moved on the best of luck and hope that the awards help plump up those ex cadets Curriculum Vitae.
