CWO Completes Half Marathon

Article posted: May 17, 2014 by Flt Lt Rayson-Flynn

I had been looking for a new physical challenge after completing a number of obstacle races and a half marathon seemed like the ideal step up. So on Monday 5th May I completed the Milton Keynes half marathon.

It was a rather warm day so the shades were on, race number pinned and I lined up at 0930 ready for a 1000 start. The first few miles went really quickly, with a few hills overcome I was having a great time. I will be honest though once I hit 9 miles I really started to struggle, but at mile 11 I could see the MK Dons Stadium which was a great sight as it was where the finish line was, so I powered through and finished. It wasn’t the time I wanted but I finished nonetheless.

I am proud to have finished and to have raised some much needed funds for my squadron makes it even more special. I am already looking to do one maybe two more before the end of the year, and hopefully raise some money for charity along the way.
