On Saturday 11th June Cadet Warrant Officer Damien Simpson travelled to London with Wing Commander Giles OBE RAFVR Ret’d to see the trooping in the colour in celebration of the queens 90th birthday. It was an early start but it meant they had a great view when the parade started. This was a parade which took place through the streets of London, outside Buckingham Palace, which was watched by millions of people.

After the parade was over they attended the Royal Air Force Officers Clubs for lunch and tour around the building, which Cadet Warrant Officer Simpson really enjoyed. Cadet Warrant Officer Simpson said “I had fun throughout the whole day as it was a new experience and I enjoyed watching the royal family parade past knowing that I had met a few members.”
