Derby Air Cadets host visit from Top Brass!

· Commandant of the Air Cadets, Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty visits Derby 126 (City of Derby) Squadron
· Trophy awarded to National Aircraft Recognition Champions
· Three Cadets promoted to Cadet Warrant Officer
· Project displays included Flight Simulation, Target Rifle Shooting, Catering, Rifle Drill, Modelling and Corps of Drums

On Thursday 8th January, Air Cadets in Derby were visited by the Commandant of the Corps, Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty.

Air Commodore McCafferty’s visit was arranged to meet the winners of the National Aircraft Recognition competition. Whilst at the Squadron, the Commandant also viewed other projects that the cadets were taking part in including Flight Simulation, Target Rifle Shooting, Catering, Rifle Drill Display Team, Modelling and the Corps of Drums.

Air Commodore McCafferty also presented new rank tapes to three newly promoted Cadet Warrant Officers. Flt Lt Bissell was also presented with a bar for is Cadet Forces Medal, commemorating 18 years with the organisation.
