CVQO Trustee, Olga Bottomley, recently presented a magnificent 14 BTEC Diplomas in Public Services to cadets of a single ATC Squadron – 126 (City of Derby)- bringing their total to 44 full awards. 14 proud sets of parents were on hand to watch the presentations with the Sqn CO , Sqn Ldr Ian Marshall, Wing CO Wg Cdr Nigel Dickinson and Wing VQ Officer, Sqn Ldr Andy Flynn.

Derby are the largest Squadron in South and East Midlands Wing, with over 150 cadets. Under the guidance of their VQ Officer, CI Mrs Lisa Marshall, the BTEC syllabus has been a roaring success.

Olga Bottomley, herself a former Air Cadet with East Midlands Wing, congratulated the cadets on a magnificent achievement and stressed the importance of this qualification in the cadets’ future careers
