1359 (Beeston) Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Cadets, have recently bade farewell to one of their members of staff. Flying Officer (Fg Off) Gareth Fowler VR(T) has been the Training Officer at Beeston for over 3 years and made a significant contribution to the squadrons successes during that time.
The number of cadets on the unit has increased following the introduction of structured recruitment drives by Fg Off Fowler and his enthusiasm and commitment has seen the squadron finish consistently in the top 3 in South and East Midlands Wing competitions.

At his final parade OC 1359, Flt Lt Phil Bannister VR(T), praised Gareth for his “hard work and dedication to the unit of the last 3 years” and presented him with a gift as a memento of his time at Beeston. Fg Off Fowler thanked everyone at the squadron for their support, adding “I am sorry to be leaving Beeston but I’m looking forward to taking up my new appointment. The future looks good for 1359 and I will be keeping a close eye on your progress over the coming years.”

Fg Off Fowler will be taking up the role of OIC 1360 (Stapleford) Squadron, all at 1359 wish him well for the future.
