Eight Air Cadets from 209 (West Bridgford) Squadron have received their Young First Aiders badges after completing a two day course.
The course which is St John’s accredited is designed as a foundation course into First Aid. The Cadets were taught CPR, the recovery position, bandaging and how to treat choking, hypothermia and bleeding. They then were assessed during a practical test on a resuscitation dummy and a volunteer who needed a wound dressing.
Pilot Officer Dave Hughes said of the course “It was an excellent two days training which the Cadets really enjoyed.”
