First Aid Training

Members of staff from squadrons in South & East Midlands Wing were recently trained in First Aid. The course is the St John Ambulance Actitivty First Aid Course which is sutable for all Actitivties in the Air Cadets such as expeditions and Live Fire Marksmanship Training and is also a useful life skill.

They learnt about medical conditions such as strokes, Heart attacks, Shock and Hypothermia and practical skills such as recovery postion Cardio Pulmoney Resuscitation and wound care

The course was Instructed bySqn Ldr Adrian Utting who is also a paramedic in his Civilian career. It was assessed by Flt Lt Carol Haynes who is the C&E Region First Aid Training Officer and Cilvilan Instructor Dawn Upton Deputy C&E Region First Aid Training Officer and Flt Lt Jackie Lawerence of 2248 Rutland Sqn all are St John Ambulance Assessors

The Wing also trains cadets as well as staff in this important subject
