Flying Fish!

A new year and a new start brings swimming onto the agenda.
As 1360 welcomed in the New Year, they took the opportunity to dive in at the local swimming centre to pass their swimming certificates. Only two parade nights in and the whole squadron took a dip in efforts to gain both their basic and intermediate proficiency’s.

Taking part in a 100m swim, dive to the bottom of the pool and rescuing a casualty both with and without T-shirts to add to the difficulty, the cadets completed all sections of the certification.
It was a great success for Stapleford & Sandiacre as it brought home the most Basic and intermediate certificates the squadron has seen for many years. Over 30 cadets passed with flying colours during the night and now the cadets are keen to move on to the advanced proficiency.
