FLYING RAF CRANWELL

Article posted: Feb 11, 2015 by Sqn Ldr Mayoh-Smith

Twelve cadets from 2070 Glenfield Squadron Air Training Corps went to RAF Cranwell on Saturday 7th Feb for Air Experience Flying (AEF). For most of these Cadets it was their first flight since joining the Cadets.

Once at RAF Cranwell the Cadets were quickly briefed and soon in the air in the RAF’s basic trainer aircraft the Grob 115E ‘Tutor’, a modern but simplistic and highly manoeuvrable light aircraft. AEF are a great way to learn how aircraft are flown and cadets often get chance to take control and even do aerobatics.

Flying is just one of the many activities on offer to cadets in the Air Training Corps and for more information contact your local Squadron or visit www.2070sqn.co.uk
