Foundation Licence Amateur Radio Training

21 cadets from various squadrons in the wing came together over a weekend at RAF Wittering to learn all about Amateur radio.

The course was intence with the cadets having to learn to operate a HF Radio set and to Learn Morse Code

The cadets also heard and spoke to stations all over Europe.

They also had to Learn how the Radio equipment works and all about the licensing rules

The cadets had to sit an exam and when they passed this they can apply to OFCOM for a Lifetime Foundation Amateur radio Licence

The course was run by Sqn Ldr Adrian Utting, Flt Lt Ralph Bateman and CI Noel Rogers all who are radio Amateurs themselves
