For the fourth Year in succession South & East Midlands Wing fought off teams from the five other Wings to win the Central & East Region Cross-Country Championships,
In pouring rain and freezing wind, the Wing’s cadets stormed home taking all the trophies for the male categories and were runners up in the female classes. For the second year running every cadet in the team took home a medal. The Wing won the hotly contested competition by twenty five points, beating Trent Wing into second place. “It was a tough competition for the cadets with the conditions making it even more of a challenge, a challenge that the cadets rose to and they did a magnificent job fending off the competition” said Wing Sports Officer, Flight Lieutenant Lynda Waplington.

Standing in for the Regional Commandant, Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson, on presenting the Trophies, paid tribute to all the cadets who took part in such atrocious conditions. He also thanked all the officials and staff who have, once again, given up their valuable time to ensure the event could be run.
The best of the runners from this competition will go forward to represent the Region in the Corps Championships.
