Over the weekend of the 27th – 29th March 2009, the Cadet Development Team (CDT) of South & East Midlands Wing held it first Multi-Training Weekend of 2009 at RAF Cottesmore.

During the weekend, cadets attended either the Radio Communicators’ Badge course or the Cadet NCO Drill Instruction course.

In addition, staff from various Squadrons also attended the Radio course and the Cadet NCO Drill Instruction course and received valuable training that will help them in running Radio at a Squadron level and improve drill standards at their respective Squadrons.

Sqn Ldr Mark Richards, Wing Training Officer (Cadet Development) said ‘again it’s another busy weekend with these courses taking place but well worth it, the courses are certainly proving popular with Squadrons across the Wing and it is pleasing to see the cadets on the various courses getting involved and enjoying their training.’

The CDT first introduced the concept of Multi-Training Weekends during 2008 with the aim of holding several cadet training events in one location over a weekend, to reduce the number of training dates in the training calendar, thus freeing up valuable time for Squadron based training and activities.
