Sunday 2nd of September at Gedling show, we are fundraising for the squadron by selling raffle tickets and a tombola.
We arrived at 11:00 and were eager to get going and rise funds for 2418 (Sherwood) Squadron.
There was a car show with over 15 antique cars in perfect condition, kept so lovingly by their owners who do this purely out of their passion and love for it and lots of charity and craft stalls all selling there wares.
At 4:30 there was a spitfire fly over. You could hear the engines in the distance growing slowly growing louder and louder causing many people to stop and stair upwards in all directions wondering what was causing it, and then suddenly it appeared over the nearby roof tops. It was truly a brilliant sight to watch a spitfire from world war two flying low over head then circling back and again, and then leaving back the way it came with the engine once again retreating back from where it had all started.
