Cadet Warrant Officer Sam Tomlinson aged 19 from Market Harborough received notification that he has been awarded his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Sam commented that the expedition which he did in the Lake District was the most difficult part largely due to the weather but at the same time it was the most enjoyable.
He thanked the Squadron staff for their support ‘while the Award is for individual effort the help and support I received from the squadron certainly helped me complete it’.
Flt Lt Smith (Commanding Officer) paid tribute to him ‘Sam has to leave the cadet ranks after 7 years and it is a fitting end to his cadet service that he should achieve this Award’
Sam now waits to be invited to London to be presented with his Award.
