Sunday 15th November. This was a day for 138 (1st Nottingham) squadron to remember. On this day, the squadron had a very busy schedule. The Wing Cross Country took place, flying at RAF Cranwell and bag packing at the Morrisons in Newark-on-Trent, how did we do it?!
Wing Cross Country takes place in South & East Midlands Wing once a year. It is a strenuous course of mud and dirt testing our physical and mental capabilities. Two of our squadron’s cadets, in the Boys category, came 2nd and 3rd. Cdt M Whipps came 2nd and Cdt A Rawson came 3rd. They have both been put forward to regional cross country on the 6th December, representing 138 (1st Nottingham) squadron and South & East Midlands Wing.
Two of our cadets went to RAF Cranwell to do some flying. They enjoyed themselves with the thrill of aerobatics. Four of our cadets went bag packing at Morrisons in Newark-on-Trent. As there were only four cadets at bag packing, the whole cross country team went to help them get money in the bank. We managed to raise a whopping £909.16! This has been our best result from 2009.
Despite a hectic day, the team pulled together to make the impossible, POSSIBLE!
