Kettering Sqn 68th Anniversary Dinner

Recently the Air Cadet Squadron of Kettering celebrated their 68th Anniversary by holding a dining in night at Kettering’s Masonic Hall.

90 guests attended the dinner to help the Kettering Air Cadets celebrate their anniversary, including the guest of honour for the night Colonel (Retired) Derek Bristow OBE.

During the night many awards were given to the cadets for their achievements throughout the year. The best cadet award was given to Cadet Alex Browne because he is always willing to volunteer himself to help with any duties that need to be done on the squadron and he also volunteers and takes part in wing events giving up a lot of his spare time. Best Sports Person Award went to Corporal Rhea Dungey for representing the squadron at Wing and Region levels which is the equivalent of county representation and Regional representation. The best marksman award was presented to Cadet Joshua Cummins who is hailed to be one of the best marksmen within South and East Midlands Wing. The Community Service Shield was awarded to Corporal Michael Newman for volunteering to help fund raise for charities such as the Royal Air Force Association Appeal, Poppy Appeal, Wings Appeal and many more.
