South and East Midlands Wing had their last 25 mile practice road march, before the qualifying WARMA 50 mile march at RAF Cosford at the end of this month.

Flying Officer Buckingham, Civilian Instructor, Mr Tolson and Cadet Warrant Officer Parr attended the march which was hosted at their home Squadron, Long Eaton.

The team marched from 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron towards Elvaston Castle and then back again. The day remained dry and cool nearly all day which helped the team keep a good pace, but when they arrived in Sawley the heavens opened all the way back to the Squadron.

Cadet Warrant Officer Rebecca Parr said “Today was a particularly challenging walk as I have been unable to train with the team for about a month, due to other cadet commitments, but I am really looking forward to the qualifying walk in 2 weeks’ time, to get my second year medal for the march”.
