Cadets from three Leicestershire squadrons recently enjoyed a fieldcraft training camp from the 11th to the 12th of April.
The cadets from 2502 (Hamilton), 2229 (Loughborough) and 1181 (Syston) squadrons spent the weekend at the Johns Lee Wood campsite near Bradgate park, Leicestershire.
The cadets arrived at the campsite Saturday morning ready for a weekend of activities, including camouflage and concealment, initiative exercises, Hand signals and movements and even a comedy drill session. Day one of the camp ended with a night exercise for the cadets to put in to practice what they had been taught.
Bright and early the next morning, the cadets were up and about bivvy building and taking part in leadership activities. After lunch the cadets enjoyed a walk around the local area to practice navigational skills, ending at Bradgate Park.
Overall the camp was activity packed, educational and despite the poor and damp weather conditions, the high spirits of the cadets were not dampened.
