On the 28th August Long Eaton Air Cadets joined together to help at Trent College, for the RAFA band concert! Cadet Sergeants Nicole Walker and Jonny Clulow, Cadet Corporal Stephan Taylor, Cadet Mackenzie Fearon and Lucy Scott helped at this annual event!
Sergeant Walker got given the job of selling programs as well as meeting all the people who came to watch the band concert! Whilst the other cadets helped by directing the cars into the car park!
The night ended with all the Cadets having the chance to watch the band concert. The theme of the concert was “Music from films and Television shows”, featuring themes from Star Wars, Damn-busters and popular radio programs such as Desert Island discs and The Archers.
At the interval an ice cream van and refreshments were available, as well as teddy bears and copies of the band’s CDs. A raffle was also held, raising on its own £249, all in aid of RAFA.
Sergeant Walker said “I love getting the job of selling programs as it means I get to meet people that were once where I am now, it means so much to me to hear their wonderful stories as it inspires me to go far in life.Thank you to the RAF band for giving up your time to perform such an amazing piece for us to listen to. It was fantastic to watch as the concert band was extremely powerful and gave everybody goosebumps! The music was a nice end to the night and we all look forward to helping next year! It was such an amazing event!”
