On the 8th August, Flying Officer Kment, Cadet Corporal Ethan Bates, Cadet Duncan Jameson and Cadet Lucy Scott as well as other cadets and staff across South & East Midlands Wing depart for Llanbedr.
Through arrival at Llanbedr the cadets were split into 3 different flights in which they stayed to do their activities. The activities in which we participated were Low Level Walking, Mountain Biking, Indoor Climbing, visiting a local slate mine and Friog Fun day. This consisted of Gorge Walking and Climbing and Abseiling outdoors. All these activities left the cadets exhausted and were a great way to test all the cadets’ teamwork skills.
As Well as these activities cadets participated in many activities throughout the night as well as having free time. These were swimming where many cadets achieved their Basic Swimming Proficiency. Cadets also participated in the Jacobs Ladder as shown below.
Also, for 2 cadets who attended Llanbedr, this was used as their Residential for their gold DofE expedition.
Finally, on the 15th of August, after a hard, friendly and interesting week cadets finish off the final touches to end an amazing week. This was to get the building to a good standard ready for the hand over. When this was done the cadets boarded the coach and headed home.
Corporal Ethan Bates said “This camp has been an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I never truly understand how much better this camp could get compared to the one I went to 3 years ago. All the people are so friendly and will be missed.”
