Long Eaton Air Cadets Bag £2500

Cadet Bailey Wrightr packs a customer’s bag

Air Cadets from Long Eaton raised nearly £2500 pounds helping pack customers bags at Asda Long Eaton and Morrisons Store in Derby just before Christmas.

The cadets from 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron, Air Training Corps, took the opportunity offered by these Community spirited Supermarkets to spend an evening (at Asda) and the weekend before Christmas (at Morrisons) packing customers shopping bags during this hectic time of Year.

“The people of Long Eaton and Derby have shown true Christmas Spirit by their generosity, far exceeding our expectation. We would also like to thank Asda and Morrisons for giving us the opportunity at this very busy time” said the Squadron’s Officer Commanding, Flight Lieutenant Jack Stepanian.

The money will go towards introducing up to date training equipment and replacing some of the Squadron’s aging camping equipment. These items will enable the squadron to continue to pursue both an academic and adventurous training programme for the benefit of the cadets.

The Cadets would like to thank Asda and Morrisons and all those customers who gave so generously.
