Operation Christmas Child

Cadets from 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron have been filling boxes with gifts in aid of Operation Christmas Child.

Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest Christmas project run by the charity Samaritans Purse. The charity have been sending shoe boxes around the world since 1990, giving 94 million unprivileged children a Christmas present.

All cadets from the squadron were enthusiastic to get involved and were keen to get as many gifts for the project as they could. The cadets had to select a gender and age ranges that they wanted provide gifts for, once they had selected the criteria they filled their shoeboxes with gifts. Once being wrapped up in wrapping paper they were ready to be handed in. Cadet Flight Sergeant Laura Allen said “I feel really happy to be a part of such a important cause and its good to remember those that are unfortunately less privileged then us”.

Once the boxes have been sent of they will shipped out to those who are less fortunate than us. The Squadron is really proud of taking part in this event and I’m sure the Squadron will participate next year.
