On Monday 14th January 2008, hard-working cadets at 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron were presented with numerous certificates and awards by their Wing Staff Officer, Squadron Leader Mark Richards.

On the evening, Squadron Leader Richards presented awards to virtually the whole squadron. The presentations included twelve Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, five Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards and five Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards.

In addition, Squadron Leader Richards presented 29 classification badges and certificates (out of 31 entries!), over 30 Bronze National Navigation Awards and 2 BTEC certificates in Aviation Studies.

Squadron Leader Richards said “congratulations to all recipients on their awards, it is pleasing to see such a variety of awards going to so many members of the Squadron. You are all a credit to the Squadron and South & East Midlands Wing – all of these awards have involved lots of hard work and are certainly well deserved – well done!”

A big thank you to all the staff and cadets of the Squadron, well done everyone!
