2012 finally see’s the retirement of Mrs Joan Rayson, after three failed attempts!! Joan has been volunteering with the Air Training Corps for over 27 years. Joan has been Chairman of 2502 (Hamilton) squadron civilian committee for the past 5 years, prior to that working with a number of other squadrons including 1461 (Wigston & District) and 1279 (Melton Mowbray). Joan has in the past also worked in the tuck shop at Wing Field Day. In recognition for all the work that Joan has done over the years, she was nominated for a Lord Lieutenant’s certificate. Joan was presented with the certificate by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant at the 40th Anniversary celebrations that 2502 (Hamilton) Squadron held at Park Hill Golf Course, Seagrave. Major Simpson commented “Joan had been awarded this certificate for all her hard work and dedication over the year. Lord-Lieutenant’s certificates are not given out very often but Joan very much deserves the honour”
