NCO Training Weekend - RAF Cottesmore
Article posted: Oct 23, 2007 by Sqn Ldr RichardsNearly 50 cadets from across the Wing attended the Wing-run NCO courses over the weekend of the 19th – 21st October 2007 at RAF Cottesmore.
The Cadet Development Team (CDT) ran two NCO courses over the weekend, the Initial NCO Course and the Advanced NCO Course.

Initial NCO Course 2/07
The initial NCO course covered numerous aspects, including the role of a junior NCO, dress regulations and discipline as well as maintenance of uniform and drill.
In addition, the cadets on the course also had lectures that covered aspects of leadership & leadership theory, group discussions & scenarios along with presentation techniques, lesson planning and presentation skills.

Advanced NCO Course 2/07
Meanwhile, the cadets on the Advanced NCO course covered various presentations and practical exercises including, the role of a senior NCO, leadership theory, morale, communication, drill & drill theory, discipline and how to inspect uniform.
The advanced NCO course also covered presentation skills, team dynamics & constitution, interpersonal skills, getting things done, planning skills and a session on staff opportunities & adult uniformed service.
