New recruits at Beeston

Article posted: Feb 07, 2014 by Wing Media & Comm Officer

The numbers at 1359 (Beeston) Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Cadets, have increased recently with the addition of eleven new cadets.

The new recruits, aged between 13 and 15, have been undergoing their initial training over the last 4 months and formerly joined the Squadron upon successful completion of that training. A “passing out” parade was held on 30th January to enrol the new cadets onto the Squadron at their Broadgate premises. Family and friends of the cadets were in attendance to see them receive their certificates and record of service books. The staff and cadets at 1359 would like to welcome the eleven and wish them a successful future with 1359.

Following this passing out the Squadron is now looking to take on a new group of recruits. They are looking for young people aged 13 to 16, from any background, who are looking for excitement and adventure and a willingness to work hard and learn new skills at the same time. Anyone interested should contact the Squadron on Tuesday or Thursday evenings between 7pm and 9pm on 0115 9256774.
