A recruitment day was held at the Long Eaton School on Wednesday 1st of July. The recruitment day was organised by Cadet Sgt Darren Walker. On the day Sgt Walker turned up in his flying suit (being a G2 qualified glider pilot) to show the flying opportunities available to Air Cadets, he was supported by CWO James Glover. A presentation was given by both Cadets on all aspects and activities that the Air Cadets are involved in.

The 29 new recruits on final parade watch as Flt Lt Stepanian, OC 2195 (Long Eaton) Sqn, presents an award to a cadet.

On the following Monday a staggering 29 potential new recruits turn up at 2195 Squadron, and to date all 29 are still attending. Sgt Walker said “the presentation went very well but it was beyond our wildest dreams that so many would turn up, being the Sergeant in charge of ‘T’ Flight I now have my work cut out training them all – but it is a challenge I look forward to”.
