Matt Lifford has been at the squadron for so long, Cadet, Cadet NCO, and lately CI, that he seemed a permanent fixture; but now, he moves on to pastures new.
Matt is now off to an electrical/electronics apprenticeship, which will be a great career move for him, but he will be sadly missed by Cadets and Staff who worked with him.
CI Matt Lifford receives a Good Bye and Good Luck card from Fg Off Helen Day, OiC of 1936 Newton Squadron
Reaching the dizzying heights of Cadet Warrant, he only recently “dropped” down and over into the dark ranks of a squadrons Civilian Instructor (only joking). His contributions at all levels, were always of the highest, and his unfailing cheerfulness got many a cadet through hard times, walking miles through pouring rain is always easier when you are laughing at the same time.
Welcome back any time Matt, see you soon.
P.S. Hope your car makes it, (those that know him, will know what we mean!)
