Civilian Instructor Andrew Sherwin has returned to 1936 (Newton) Squadron, taking on the role of Modeling Leader and Museum visit coordinator. Andrew has been away from the squadron as a staff member for just over a year due to his employment commitments, although has continued his valued link with the unit by working on the squadron Civilian Committee.

Andrew has a long past with Newton, living locally and seeing two of his children serve with the squadron at senior cadet ranks. Andrew has also taken a leading role in local community events over the years and has successfully arranged for, and given commentary over several Battle of Britain Memorial Flight fly pasts in the local town of Bingham.

Andrew said “I am looking forward to the challenge to improve our position in modeling on the wing stage, and in particular this years Wing Field Day. I also hope to arrange several educational field visits to air museums throughout the summer months”.
