Nicole Walking up the Rank ladder

On Thursday 12th May, Flight Lieutenant Buckingham promoted Cadet Sergeant Nicole Walker to Cadet Flight Sergeant. In an award ceremony in front of the rest of the squadron, he presented Cadet Flight Sergeant Walker with her new rank slides in recognition of her hard work during her 4 years at the squadron.

Cadet Flight sergeant Nicole walker has had a massive impact on the squadron as she is a regular attender with great ambition and motivation. Whilst at Long Eaton Air Cadets, she has completed her bronze Duke of Edinburgh award, her active first aid course, the Cadet drill instructor course, alongside many other courses and achievements.

Cadet Flight sergeant Nicole walker, has attended many wing events and camps, such as Swynnerton, the Drill and Ceremonial camp and Llanbedr. These events have not only given her experience but have also given her the confidence and knowledge to excel herself and help others to do the same.

Cadet Flight Sergeant Nicole Walker has also been attending the Nijmegen training sessions in the hopes of getting into the team, this has not only improved her fitness but has given her an experience that she will never forget.

Cadet Flight Sergeant Nicole Walker said “I am extremely proud of myself as 4 years ago I never thought I would have been given the chance to achieve so much. 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron Air Training Corps has given me the confidence to push myself to do the things many people my age don’t have the chance to do and I thank them for all the opportunities I have had over the years!”
